So i thought i would give hacintosh a go on my laptop and pass this info along as there was not much out there for my laptop when i came to do it.

Well it went ok, after the main install everything worked well, don’t forget when installing, just before you click install it go through the drivers and pick the correct GPU. So after the install 3 things didn’t work,

  1. The wifi card, being an intel i don’t think it will every work, you can pull the intel out and replace with something that will work with mac os but it was more hard work that it would have been worth.
  2. Sleep, shutdown didn’t work well, sleep didn’t work and when sent to shut down it would re start every time.
  3. The GPU drivers worked but only in displaying anything, i could not change anything through the OS.

I did get the Ethernet connection working but only after messing round for about 30 mins.

I think after some messing everything could work well, the wifi card would have to be changes or a USB plugged in would work

My Gran Died Thursday, she passed away in at 3am. It would have been her birthday friday. I think I’m telling you this so I can process what’s happened, it was the reason I started a blog in the first place.

I am upset but she had not been well for a few weeks and in the last few days her body had started to shut down and we all knew that it was time, she was at home where she wanted to be and had her loving family around her, she was in no pain and passes peacefully.

She was such a nice person, just the gran everyone would want to have, during the last few years she had some problems with her health and it was just amazing to see how it didn’t affect the way she looked at life, no matter how hard things got for her she never showed it.

We talked about the little stories we had about her, the nice and funny things that always seemed to surround her, I think that’s how I will always remember her, the bringer of happiness.

So at work Christmas eve with only 2 hours left to go before I can start my 4 days off, doing the usual this year and spending most of the day in the car driving from family member to family member. I don’t really mind too much as I get to see everyone I want to but it would be nice one day just to have the full day without having to go anywhere, once I get over to Liverpool in the evening a can relax and have a drink or two.

So Merry Christmas to one and all (nice film quote!) I hope all is well in this festive time of year and fun is had.

I’m ill again, I thought I had gotten over my illness and I think I did but now I’m back to the sofa with the duvet feeling sorry for myself. You know if I was going out every night and drinking all night or not eating properly or licking the floor of public toilet then I could see where my illness comes from but I don’t.

It comes just like 2 weeks ago right when I don’t really need it, just when I need to be working to 150%, just when all the xmas parties are going on, I don’t want to go see my Gran or my girl friends sister kids just in case they get whatever I’m battling and have it over Christmas, it would make me sad. So I’ll just sit here ill, I really hope its not a week thing and that tomorrow or in a few days I’ll feel a lot better.

I have been following the US election for the past 3 months or so, I had chance to watch all the debates and watch day after day the press coverage of the run up to the election.

I want to vote, if there are any Americans out there who just can’t decide what to do with their vote let me have it, if you’re not going to use it why not let someone who want to make a difference have it.

Vote Abama!

Email to TK Max October 3, 2008

I’m am truly shocked that a large company like TK Max would sell a coat with a knife, in the world we live now there are more and more attacks with weapons like knifes and now you have put a weapon like this in the hands of anyone who would want to buy a coat.

As you statement says

‘We buy a huge range of products from thousands of international and reputable brand owners. In this particular instance, we bought coats from a Swiss brand which were to have been shipped to us without the knives.

We were surprised, therefore, to learn that some of the knives had not been removed before our stores received them. This was by no means intentional and we greatly regret that this has occurred.’

You were aware that the coats had been designed with the knife attached and at no point did anyone check to make sure that the knife had been removed, I’m not a type of person who would wish ill of anyone but the person who should have done the checking should no longer work for you, every mistake has its consequences and this one could lead to the death of someone by the knife you sold.

I hope this email will reach someone that feels as disgusted as myself and TK Max will never make such a poor mistake again.

Getting ready to move August 15, 2008

I’m getting ready to move and its great, I have what I can only describe as a mountain of boxes but I’m getting there. As the packing moves forward so does the painting, at the moment don’t think I’m happy unless I’m packing or painting, its going well as I now find I only have to touch up instead of painting the entire wall which is a big time saver.

I had to go to B&Q last week to get something for my wooden floor, when going back to my car I noticed a green car with its alarm going off just a few cars down from mine. As I got closer I could see someone in the car, I went to get in to my can to see what would have been a 5 maybe 6 year old girl crying her eyes out lack in the car. Well what could I do, its raining and windy and all I could do was stand outside her car telling her everything was going to be ok as she cried, she kept shouting ‘ I want my mummy’ ‘I want to get out’, now if someone had locked me in a car I would want to get out. After about 10 mins of me waiting I decided the only thing to do was call the police, not 999 but the control room, they put me straight through to emergency response. After about 10 mins a lady came to the car and opened it, I asked is this you little girl to which she replied yes, at this point I launched in to a rant about what a poor human being she was and how it was disgraceful she could do something like that, I got back in my car and set off back home. Just as I was going to pull out of the car park I stopped, turned around and parked back up just a few cars down, I spotted her going in to another shop and this is what I told the police when they turned up 5 mins later. I said there is not much you can do now but the officer said this was not going to stop him from having a good chat with the lady.

You know I could just not believe that you someone could leave there child, locked in car.
